Picking Battles: An Introduction to Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs)
Do you find yourself picking at your skin, pulling your hair, or biting your nails, sometimes without even realizing it? You're not alone, and there's no shame in it.
Join No Shame On U for our next Feed Your Mind workshop, where we'll take a closer look at Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), a group of compulsive, self-grooming behaviors that can cause physical damage to the body and are classified as obsessive-compulsive related disorders. Whether they show up as skin picking, hair pulling, nail biting, or something similar, BFRBs are often habitual, stress-driven, and genuinely hard to stop, even when you want to.
In this session, you'll learn:
What BFRBs are and why they happen
When it's time to seek support — and what that can look like
Where and how to get help in a way that feels manageable
This event is free and open to everyone — whether you are navigating these behaviors yourself, a parent or caregiver seeking answers, or an educator or counselor looking to better support the people in your care.
