Sports can be one of the best things in a young person's life. They offer friendship, confidence, structure, and a sense of belonging. Research shows that playing sports can protect young people's mental health. That said, today's youth sports world looks very different than it used to, and many young athletes are feeling the pressure.
Join No Shame On U and Monica Chernoff, MS, LMFT, and Clinical Advisory Board Member of The Hidden Opponent, for a conversation about the mental health of young athletes, from middle schoolers to college players. Monica will cover:
The real benefits of sports for mental health
The trends and pressures young athletes are facing right now
Warning signs of stress, burnout, and anxiety to watch for
Practical ways parents, coaches, and caring adults can support the young athletes in their lives
Resources for when a young person is struggling
