AI & Mental Health: What Do We Need To Know?
Young people are turning to AI for everything from homework help to late-night conversations about how they’re feeling. Join Kai Lehocky (they/them), a licensed clinical social worker and second-year PhD student at Loyola University Chicago, for a conversation about how AI is shaping the mental health of young people ages 11–25. Kai will explore how young people are using AI to seek information and support, where these tools can help and where they fall short, and how Illinois is responding to AI’s growing role in mental health care.
Parents, educators, and anyone who supports young people will walk away with a clearer understanding of the benefits and risks of AI, along with practical ways to start open, judgment-free conversations about it with the young people in their lives.
