Help! Once-a-Week Therapy Isn't Cutting It for My Child

As a parent or caregiver, watching your child struggle with their mental health can feel overwhelming — especially when weekly therapy still doesn't seem to be enough. This session is designed to help you understand when it's time to seek additional support, and what options are available to help your child thrive.

Presented by Christine Hazelett, LCPC, ATR, Clinical Director of Clarity Clinic, Evanston, this interactive program will walk caregivers through the signs that a child or teen may need a higher level of mental health care, and demystify the pathways beyond traditional weekly therapy. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) — what they look like, who they're designed for, and how they can provide the structure, consistency, and community young people need to stabilize and heal.

Participants will learn:

  • How to recognize warning signs that weekly therapy may not be meeting your child's needs

  • The difference between Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP)

  • How these programs work alongside — not instead of — your child's existing care

  • Practical next steps for families ready to explore higher levels of support

Seeking more help for your child is a sign of love, courage, and commitment to their well-being. Join us for an honest, stigma-free conversation about getting kids and teens the support they deserve.
