Certification requires attendance at both 4 hour sessions.
Mental Health First Aid is an eight hour course that teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. It is an important tool for friends and family members to know how to deal with loved ones living with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder and many other mental health conditions.
About the Mental Health First Aid Trainer, Nina Henry:
Nina Henry, LCPC, CADC, Addiction Specialist at the Jewish Center for Addiction (a program of Jewish Child and Family Services), has been working in the substance use and mental health fields for more than 25 years. She received her Masters of Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University and was certified to provide addiction treatment services by the Illinois Certification Board in 1991. Ms. Henry was certified to provide Mental Health First Aid training in 2010.
